A popular alternative to traditional Skip hire

A skip bag may be a better alternative to a skip bin in some cases.

A skip bag is woven from an ultra-strong polymer and will not break or tear. It comes packed into a compact sealed bag similar to a shopping bag. When you receive it, you simply open it up and stand it where you plan to use it. Due to its semi-rigid seams, it will stand up for ease of loading.

The main advantages of skip bags over skip bins are:

• In many cases a skip bag is cheaper than a skip bin
• You can keep a skip bag for as long as you need – there are no time limits
• Can be collected from tighter locations than a skip bin. Some examples are:

  • Lifted over a paling fence
  • Lifted from a first floor balcony

• A skip bag can be moved around by hand until it becomes too heavy to shift, so you can conveniently shift it to be near to the rubbish that you have
• They are soft on driveways

You would not generally choose a skip bag over a skip bin if you have large amounts of hard fill to remove. For that kind of job a skip bin would be a better choice as the hard fill is easier to load into a skip and besides, the lifting mechanism on a skip truck has a much higher lifting capacity than that of a skip bag truck.
