Chain Lift Bins

Chain lift bins are generally under 10 cubic metres and go all the way down to 2 cubic metres. These are the most common skip bin type used for home clean-up and renovation tasks. Not all, but many chain lift bins have a door that opens at one end to make it easy to load.

Hook Lift Bins

Hook lift bins are generally for large construction or demolition projects and can be used for the heaviest loads. Hook lift bins are available in most areas in 12m3, 15m3, 20m3, 30m3 and in some areas up to 40m3. Hook lift bins slide on a rail on the back of the truck and require a fair amount of linear and overhead space to be unloaded so please be aware of the space required for placement.

Mobile Skip Bins

Mobile skip bins are lighter duty than chain lift or hook lift bins and are ideal for home clean-ups, office clean-ups and some renovation jobs. Mobile skips cannot be used for concrete or brick waste as these are too heavy. They are often ideal when there is insufficient space to position an conventional skip bin as they can be placed anywhere that you could reverse a standard box trailer into. They are also lockable which can be an advatate at times.

Waste Types

The type of waste can affect the cost of the skip so it is very important to specify this correctly when you are ordering to avoid any additional costs. Read more about waste types

What if you have asbestos?

Beware that fibre cement manufactured prior to 1990 often contained asbestos. If you have fibre cement and it is not new material, the only way to be sure that it is not asbestos is to have it tested in a NATA certified lab, or if it contains a manufacturer's stamp showing that the material was manufactured after the cessation of the use of asbestos as a component of fibre cement in Australia. For this reason, you must not put fibro or any form of fibre cement into a skip bin that you have hired through Rentaskip. No form of loose fill insulation may ever be put into a one of our skip bins.

Our sister company, Central Waste Station, however, is able to provide transport of asbestos waste and can even organise licenced asbestos removers to correctly wrap the waste and load the bin for you. If engaged to dispose of asbestos waste for you, Central Waste will track the waste using the NSW EPA's WasteLocate app to guarantee you peace of mind that the material has been disposed of lawfully. Our staff can advice you of the requirements and help you to organise this with Central Waste.

I've hired several skips through you guys now and I've always been more than happy with the service. - Dianne, The Gap, QLD.

Used the online booking engine on your website and got a skip bin the next day for a good price. I didn't actaually speak to anyone or ever see the driver. The bin just turned up, I filled it and it went away. Thanks for the seamless service. - Peter, Pennant Hills, Sydney, NSW.

Same Day Deliveries

Our office opens at 7:00am and as long as you call us by 10am, we can normally get your bin delivered on the same day, often within 2 hours of booking.

Delivery Times

We must organise our delivery runs to maximise efficiency. This helps us to keep out skip bin prices down by conserving fuel.

We do our best to cater to customer requests for delivery times, but if you really need a bin first thing in the morning though, please book it to be delivered on the previous day.

Mobile Skips

Mobile skips:

  • Are mounted on a trailer
  • Have a lid which you can lock
  • Can go in a driveway or even a garage
  • Are on tyres so will not mark your driveway
  • Can be put on roadways if parked accoridng to parking regulations

Mobile skip bins still need to be positioned in compliance with parking rules however.

Recycling

What happens to the waste that we collect?

Did you know that a lot of waste collected by our competitors goes straight to landfill? This is not the most sustainable way to deal with waste. Waste from our skips in most collection areas goes to a resource recovery centre for separation so that recyclable materials are diverted from landfill.

This is not only environmentally beneficial, but also makes good business sense as it is cost effective to recycle and this helps support us in providing our customers with better prices.

What can't go in a skip bin

You must never put any asbestos or fibre cement materials in a Rentaskip bin. This is for the safety of our staff and the public. Please call us to discuss if you are unsure about your material.

You must also not put in any of the following material types:

  • Gas Bottles
  • Liquids
  • Any Hazardous Waste
  • Any Dangerous Goods
  • Soil that has not been tested and classified

Placement of Skips

Many local councils require a permit to place a skip on the street or even on the footpath or nature strip.

Our customer service staff can advise you on the requirements in your area, so please call for assistance or check our placement guide.

There are also space considerations. Skip trucks are generally medium sized trucks and require adequate space to place a skip. Most driveways are wide enough, but things can get tight in some cases so please ask us if you are in doubt.
